In the Abstractus sculptures, I frequently take features from the Earth such as rivers, mud cracks, ripple marks, etc. and abstract them for surface textures and patterns. The patterns may represent river as seen from an airplane or ancient symbols used to represent water. They are subliminal reminders and visual markers that take us to the calm, quiet places found in nature.
